The ex-wife of a senior White House official who resigned amid
allegations of domestic violence said, “If he hasn’t already been
abusive with Hope [Hicks], he will.”
Jennie Willoughby, Rob Porter’s second wife, spoke to CNN on Thursday and choked back tears as she recounted the “low grade constant terror” she faced throughout her four-year marriage.
Willoughby also shared her fears for Porter’s new girlfriend, White House Communications Director Hope Hicks, warning President Trump’s staff secretary has not changed since their divorce in 2013.
“He has not gotten help,” Willoughby said.

“If he hasn’t already been abusive with Hope, he will. Particularly now that he’s under a lot of stress and scrutiny...I don’t think that he has done the self-reflective work to acknowledge this issue.”
“I don't think that he has really taken the time to deconstruct why it is that he behaves this way and until he's able to do that, I don't know that he has control over it,” she added.

In the emotional interview on Thursday night, Willoughby also said her ex-husband asked her to “downplay” her account in an April 2017 blog post titled “Why I stayed.”
Willoughby said, “I don't remember the exact wording [he wanted me to use] but something along the lines that the post does not accurately depict my marriage.”
“That just didn't feel right to me because it does accurately depict my marriage and he wanted me to say I had taken some liberties with the therapeutic post. The things I said were factual statements,” she added.
