 Sandra Bullock won’t be playing Wendy Davis in the actual Texas Senate chamber if Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick has anything to do with it.

The movie “Let Her Speak,” announced in November, will follow Davis on June 25, 2013, the day she held a 13-hour filibuster to stop a measure that would have further restricted abortion rights in Texas.

A year later, now firmly entrenched in the national spotlight, Davis ran for governor, but lost to Greg Abbott by more than 20 percentage points.

“If I have anything to do with that, I’m not going to let them use the Senate chamber to shoot because they have already disgraced it once,” Patrick said Thursday, according to the Austin American Statesman. “I’m not going to let them do it again.”

Bullock is attached to star in the project as Davis.
