Amber Heard never testified at her Saturday deposition, but it wasn’t because she got cold feet, multiple sources told the Daily News Monday.
“She was there and ready to proceed. She never refused to go in,” one well-placed source said.
The “Danish Girl” star waited in the wings for more than nine hours while lawyers on both sides went back and forth “with respect to a global resolution on all issues” in her divorce war with estranged husband Johnny Depp, the source said.
A court reporter and videographer were on hand along with Depp’s divorce lawyer Laura Wasser and high-powered trial attorney Blair Berk.
At one point the lawyers said it was time to start, but when Heard was getting ready to enter the room, the settlement discussions started up again, the source said.
Heard, 30, filed for divorce in May saying the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor physically abused her.
Depp, 53, hasn’t publicly commented on the allegations, but Wasser claimed in a court filing that Heard was “attempting to secure a premature financial resolution by alleging abuse.”
Sources said Monday that Heard flew back from London for the weekend deposition and still plans to testify next Monday at a scheduled hearing to extend her domestic violence restraining order against Depp.
Her side had no plans Monday to ask for another delay at a status conference set for Tuesday, the sources said.
In a sworn statement to the court signed May 26, Heard said that Depp “wound up (his) arm like a baseball pitcher” and whacked her in the face with a cell phone during a drunken rage on May 21, a day after his mom passed away.
She claimed Depp had been verbally and physically abusive “during the entirety" of their relationship and had grabbed her by the hair and “violently shoved” her to the floor during an earlier incident on April 21.
The actress who met Depp on the set of the 2011 flick “The Rum Diary” previously passed on earlier deposition dates claiming work conflicts such as a costume fitting in London for her upcoming movie “The Justice League.”
Her camp has asked Depp to appear at a deposition on Wednesday, but it wasn’t clear Monday if he planned to show up.
