Paramedics in Ohio treated nearly 50 rally-goers who fell ill while waiting for a tardy Hillary Clinton under the sweltering sun in Columbus, according to local reports.

Supporters waited nearly two hours Sunday afternoon for the Democratic nominee and running mate Tim Kaine as temperatures simmered at a scorching 88 degrees in the central Ohio city, the Columbus Dispatch reported.

The White House hopefuls were expected at the Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center just after noon, but unbeknownst to supporters waiting in line, Clinton and Kaine were getting milkshakes at Grandpa’s Cheesebarn in Ashland.

By the time Clinton arrived to her scheduled meetup in Columbus, paramedics had already helped about 50 out of about 5,000 people for heat-related illnesses, CNN reported, citing a deputy fire chief in Columbus.

On Monday, Republican nominee Donald Trump returns to the Buckeye state in the wake of controversial attacks on Khizr and Ghazala Khan whose Muslim-American son was killed by a suicide bomber in Iraq. The parents spoke at the Democratic National Convention last week.
